A chartered L3C that teaches engineering and 3D modeling to kids.
ProjectCAD is a nonprofit I co-founded to connect kids from any community with online tutors who teach engineering and 3D modeling. We chartered ProjectCAD as an L3C — a low-profit limited liability company, a business form built to carry a social mission rather than pay profit out to owners.
Beyond teaching, I built the organization around ProjectCAD: a structured team with social-media, outreach, and VP roles to drive growth, and four interactive curriculums spanning two different CAD programs. ProjectCAD was the first time I built the organization behind an idea rather than only the idea, and the same instinct later became my role as COO at nAblement.
Run by the team I built and handed over to my successor, ProjectCAD hosted the Illinois Speed Modeling Challenge in spring 2025, a timed CAD competition with 15 participants. ProjectCAD then coached a FIRST LEGO League team of about seven members, and from February to May 2026 took a rookie all-girls FIRST Tech Challenge team through the CAD for their first competition robot.
